Liverpool’s date with destiny has come.
The Reds will take on Sevilla on Wednesday in Basel, Switzerland, in the 2016 UEFA Europa League final. The winning club will author a new chapter in its history and earn a place in next season’s UEFA Champions League.
Sevilla is the two-time defending Europa League champion and is aiming for an unprecedented hat trick.
Liverpool has won the competition three times, most recently in 2001. The Reds can match Sevilla’s record of four titles in this competition with a victory.
