Chris Young Taking Advantage Of Extended Playing Time In Red Sox Lineup

Chris Young wasn’t going to be the everyday starter in left field when he signed with the Boston Red Sox last offseason. Now thrust into the role because of injuries, the 32-year-old is performing like it should have been his job all along.

Since May 4, Young has started 13 games and played in 18 overall, batting .373 with four home runs, seven doubles, 10 RBIs and a 1.203 OPS. He caught up with NESN’s Guerin Austin before Wednesday’s game in San Francisco against the Giants to discuss his role and what it’s like playing in this explosive Red Sox offense.

Check out the interview from “Red Sox First Pitch” in the video above.
