The United States rebounded from a dismal performance in a loss to Colombia last Friday night with a lopsided 4-0 win over Costa Rica on Monday in its second group stage match.

That win wasn’t enough to buoy the Americans’ odds to win the Copa America tournament, which continue to lag at +2000 at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.

The United States entered the tournament sporting solid +700 odds to emerge as champions in its first Copa America appearance since 2007 but were unable to keep pace with a highly skilled Colombian side in its first loss in seven matches on home turf.

With the victory over the Ticos, the United States has sole possession of second place in Group A but faces a huge challenge in its quest to advance to the knockout stage when it faces Paraguay on Saturday.

The Americans have lost two straight to Paraguay, including a 3-1 defeat at the 2007 Copa America, but hold the edge in their upcoming matchup at +115 odds at the sportsbooks.

Mexico is currently the fastest mover on the Copa America Centenario odds, improving to +450 to win the tournament on the strength of its impressive 3-1 victory over Uruguay on Sunday.

While Mexico shares the top spot in Group C with Venezuela, which earned just its second win in its past 16 games with a 1-0 victory over Jamaica, the Mexicans have pulled away from the pack as -500 chalk to win the group.

Colombia is on the move in Copa America Centenario championship betting, improving from +900 to +750 after clinching a berth in the quarterfinals with a 2-1 win over Paraguay on Tuesday.

Argentina continues to lead the way as slightly improved +125 tournament favorites after exacting revenge for its loss in last year’s final, getting past Chile by a 2-1 score Monday. With that loss, the defending champion Chileans remain far from assured of a place in the knockout stage but hold steady as a +1000 bet to repeat.

Brazil opened the tournament at +450 before sliding to +750 after settling for a scoreless draw in its opening match with Ecuador. However, it’s expected to rebound on those odds after locking up a spot in the quarterfinal with its 7-1 blowout win over Haiti, sending the Haitians packing as the first team eliminated.

Uruguay continues to trail the favorites at +1400 on the Copa America odds, well ahead of Ecuador at +3300 and Paraguay at +8000, while Peru, Costa Rica, and Venezuela each sit at +10000. Panama owns +15000 odds, and Bolivia joins Jamaica as +50000 long shots.
