BOSTON — David Ortiz is pretty good at this baseball thing.
The Red Sox designated hitter put his team on the board against the Seattle Mariners with a two-run homer in the fourth inning Friday, giving him 18 on the season and 521 in his career. And it also happened to move Ortiz up on a whole bunch of leaderboards.
No. 521 put Big Papi in a 19th-place tie with a few guys you might have heard of: Ted Williams, Willie McCovey and Frank Thomas. All of them are Hall of Famers.

Besides the home run total, the two RBIs Ortiz collected gave him 1,700, which passed Jim Thome for 25th all-time. It also was his 2,380th career hit, which tied his hitting coach, Chili Davis, for 126th all-time.
