The Globies are back.

The awards celebration, presented by Mercedes-Benz and hosted by The Boston Globe, will return for its second year on Nov. 14 at Boston’s House of Blues. The Globies honor the best in the New England sports.

“Building off the success of last year’s inaugural event, The Globies will continue to be the premier celebration of sports in New England,” Boston Globe CEO Mike Sheehan said in a press release. “Sport connects us in profound ways and The Globies commemorates the bond created between athletes, teams and fans. We would also like to thank the Boston Area Mercedes-Benz Dealers for returning as the event’s presenting sponsor for a second year.”

NESN, broadcast partner of The Globies, will produce a special highlight show that will air in the days after the event. Tom Caron will serve as Globies emcee.

“Sports fans in New England are proud of their championship teams and love to celebrate their sports heroes,” NESN president/CEO Sean McGrail said. “The Globies captures that fan passion and has a natural home on NESN. We’re thrilled to be a part of this exciting must-see annual event.”
