Johnny Manziel Claims He’s Not Doing Drugs In Mexico, Plans To Go Sober

Don’t worry, guys. Johnny Manziel is going to be just fine.

At least that’s what the free-agent quarterback told TMZ Sports this week during his trip to Mexico.

TMZ Sports asked Manziel about a photo posted by a girl staying in the same Cabo mansion that appears to show her holding several bags of drugs. The 23-year-old said the drugs absolutely weren’t his and that he doesn’t even know the girl in question.

In fact, Manziel told TMZ Sports he’s not doing any drugs in Mexico and that he plans to go completely sober — no booze, eating right, training like crazy — starting July 1. The former Cleveland Browns QB is eyeing an NFL return and said he’s finally ready to get back to work, per TMZ Sports.

Manziel’s reassurance comes after he seemingly taunted his father in an Instagram post from Mexico in which he’s sporting a Josh Gordon Browns jersey. Manziel’s dad told ESPN earlier this week that his son is a “druggie” who belongs in jail, and the former Heisman Trophy winner subsequently used the hashtag “#hiDad” in the aforementioned Instagram post.
