LeBron James, Kevin Love Really Hated Anderson Varejao’s Game 1 ‘Flop’

LeBron James and Kevin Love both played with Anderson Varejao in Cleveland, so they’re well aware of the tricks the Sideshow Bob lookalike could play for Golden State in the NBA Finals.

They’d like the officials to be aware, too.

Varejao heaved his body across the paint Thursday night in the second quarter of Game 1 after Love made contact with him along the baseline. Officials called Love for an offensive foul, but it was fairly obvious that Varejao flopped, which is the point both Love and James tried to hammer home to the refs.

The Warriors ended up winning the series opener 104-89 despite Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson combining for just 20 points.

Whatever happens, Varejao will end up with a championship ring, as he played for the Cavaliers earlier this season — and the 11 seasons prior — before being traded to the Trail Blazers and ultimately landing with the Warriors after Portland waived him.
