The Boston Red Sox continued their success against the National League with a 5-3 win over the San Francisco Giants in 10 innings Tuesday night at AT&T Park.
The victory improved Boston’s interleague record to 6-2 on the season. The Red Sox remain a half game behind the Baltimore Orioles in the American League East division. The Orioles also won Tuesday night.

Xander Bogaerts hit a two-RBI single to shallow center field in the 10th inning to give Boston a 5-3 lead.
ON THE BUMP
— Porcello set down the side in order to begin the game, and he did the same in the second inning. He allowed a home run — which has been a problem for him all season — to Jarrett Parker to lead off the third frame. Porcello bounced back well, though, striking out the next three batters.
He ran into more trouble in the fourth. Three straight hits and a walk plated a run, tying the game 2-2, and then Gregor Blanco grounded into a double play that drove in another run for San Francisco’s first lead. Porcello escaped the inning without further damage.
Porcello allowed just one hit in the fifth and retired the side in order in the sixth frame.
He gave up five hits and three runs (all earned), while striking out six and walking one through six innings.
— Robbie Ross Jr. relieved Porcello in the seventh and pitched a perfect frame. Ross had one strikeout.
— Koji Uehara relieved Ross for the eighth and gave up a hit but didn’t allow any runs. He also had one strikeout.
— Junichi Tazawa relieved Uehara for the ninth inning. He struck out one and retired the side in order.
— Craig Kimbrel picked up a save with a perfect 10th inning.
IN THE BATTER’S BOX
— Jackie Bradley Jr. collected Boston’s first hit of the game with a second-inning double. He stole a base in the seventh and advanced to third on a throwing error. Bradley scored later in the inning. He finished 1 for 3 with two runs and a walk.
— Chris Young doubled in the second to give Boston a 1-0 lead. He went 1 for 3 with an RBI, a walk and a strikeout.
— Mookie Betts doubled in the third and eventually scored. He also laid down a perfect bunt in the 10th inning to load the bases. He went 2 for 5.
— Dustin Pedroia went 1 for 5 with a stolen base. He grounded into a fielder’s choice in the 10th with the bases loaded.
— Xander Bogarts hit an infield single in the third frame, which drove in Betts. His two-RBI single in the 10th broke a 3-3 tie. He was 2 for 5 with three RBI and a stolen base.
— Christian Vazquez singled in the fifth inning to end an 0 for 13 slump. David Ortiz pinch hit for Vazquez in the seventh. He grounded out, but a run scored to tie the game 3-3.
