The Boston Celtics are prepared to make a splash.

The Celtics currently own the No. 3 overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft, but according to CSNNE.com’s A. Sherrod Blakely, Boston is aggressively shopping the selection in an attempt to land an impact player.

“(I’m) hearing that No. 3 pick overall is the one that they are really shopping, trying to be as aggressive as possible in trying to move that pick, because they want to get a difference-making, impact player right now,” Blakely said Sunday night, per CSNNE.com. “And they believe using that No. 3 pick, and maybe some other players and/or picks, might be the best way to (make) that happen.”

Blakely cites Kevin Durant and Jimmy Butler as two potential targets for the Celtics this offseason, though that should hardly come as a surprise, as both players figure to be in high demand across the NBA.

The C’s have an abundance of draft picks and cap space, so they can be flexible in how they build their roster for next season. The No. 3 pick is their most valuable asset, however, and it’ll be interesting to see if any team takes the bait and relinquishes a star for the selection.
