Terry Collins Acts Like Jerk Toward Mets PR Guy; Mike Francesa Isn’t Impressed

Wednesday was a rough day for longtime New York Mets public relations guy Jay Horwitz.

The Mets were able to defeat the Kansas City Royals, but it wasn’t an easy afternoon. Star outfielder Yoenis Cespedes and ace pitcher Noah Syndergaard both left the game with injuries, which means additional work for Horwitz.

When Mets manager Terry Collins attempted to leave his postgame media briefing, Horwitz stopped him in his tracks, urging him to give an update on Syndergaard. That’s when things got a little tense and very awkward.

New York sports radio king Mike Francesa wasn’t impressed with Collins’ behavior. Francesa went on a lengthy rant about Collins during his show Wednesday afternoon, with the best of the diatribe below.

For what it’s worth, the Mets later announced both Cespedes and Syndergaard are expected to be fine.

Just another day in New York baseball.
