Tom Brady is one of the greatest football players of his generation. But exactly 21 years ago Thursday, the Montreal Expos had different plans for him.
The Expos selected Brady, a high school catcher, in the 18th round of the 1995 MLB Draft. The New England Patriots quarterback never played a game for Montreal — or any professional baseball team, for that matter — but he gave fans a peek of what he might have looked like on the diamond in a hilariously Photoshopped Facebook post.
Fun fact: Two of Brady’s former Patriots teammates also were drafted as baseball players in 1995, with the Cleveland Indians selecting both safety/pitcher Lawyer Milloy (19th round) and quarterback/outfielder Michael Bishop (28th round).
