Saturday at Fenway Park already was a celebration of veterans, but it turned into an even bigger one in the fourth inning of the Boston Red Sox’s game against the Toronto Blue Jays.
U.S. Pavement continued its pledge to hire veterans by hosting a military appreciation night at the ballpark for the fourth consecutive year. The Woburn, Mass., based company gave out over 300 tickets to Saturday’s game to veterans and their families and donated $5,000 to local veterans organizations. United States Air Force Staff Sgt. Amber Nonnamaker also threw out the first pitch.
But Staff Sgt. Nonnamaker got an even bigger surprise when her longtime boyfriend, Army veteran Steve Bohn, proposed to her on the Jumbotron.
