WWE Money In The Bank: Dean Ambrose Cashes In On Seth Rollins To Win Title

There’s a new man at the top of the WWE ladder.

The WWE world heavyweight championship changed hands not once, but twice — in a matter of minutes — Sunday night at the Money in the Bank pay-per-view. When it was all said and done, Dean Ambrose walked away with the title.

Ambrose won his first WWE world heavyweight championship by way of a successful cash-in of the Money in the Bank briefcase, which he won about an hour before the event went off the air.

Ambrose won the title after cashing in on Seth Rollins, who beat Roman Reigns in what was originally billed as the main event.

Ambrose’s win could set up an interesting summer program for the WWE, headlined by him, Reigns and Rollins. The trio broke into WWE in 2012 as “The Shield,” a wildly popular stable that broke up in 2014.

The win also capped a big night for Ohio natives. Not long before Ambrose, a Cincinnati native, won the title, Ohio’s own LeBron James led the Cleveland Cavaliers to the NBA title.
