Apparently, Al Horford isn’t the type to ghost from an NBA team or its city.

The soon-to-be Boston Celtics center thanked Atlanta Hawks fans Tuesday in a short and sweet Twitter message. Horford also revealed the agony he felt over leaving Atlanta after nearly a decade.

Horford agreed to join the Celtics on a reported four-year, $113 million contract Saturday.

The four-time NBA All-Star should receive a warm welcome when he returns to Atlanta as a Celtic — not only because of his performances on the court, but also because he didn’t leave without saying goodbye.
