Weather wreaked havoc at the British Open during Friday’s second round, pushing the cut line all the way to plus-5. But even that didn’t stop Phil Mickelson.
Mickelson shot a 2-under-par-69, giving him a one-stroke lead over Henrik Stenson at 10 under. Zach Johnson, last year’s British Open winner, still is in contention along with Keegan Bradley, Sergio Garcia, Charl Schwartzel and Bill Haas, to name a few. But any of those golfers likely will have to put together a round like Mickelson did Thursday to catch the five-time major winner.
You can watch Saturday’s third-round action starting at 4 a.m. ET on Golf Channel, followed by NBC at 7 a.m. Live streams will be available all day on NBC Sports Live Extra.
