The Boston Celtics would like to upgrade their roster for next season by signing or trading for a superstar player or two, and the recruitment is well underway.

The man doing the recruiting? All-Star guard Isaiah Thomas.

We knew Thomas had been recruiting for a while, but it’s interesting to learn Al Horford has been added to the mix. Thomas also was seen talking to Jimmy Butler at the NBA draft lottery, where they represented the Celtics and Chicago Bulls, respectively.

The Celtics have enough salary cap space for two max contracts, but acquiring those players obviously is much easier said than done. Luckily for Boston, it has a meeting with Kevin Durant on Saturday. Maybe Thomas will be there to help convince him Boston is the best choice.
