Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green was arrested Sunday on assault charges, according to a report by Michigan’s MLive.com.

The reported incident occurred in East Lansing, Mich., where Green attended college at Michigan State, and the initial report Monday morning offered little in the way of details.

“The police department is not confirming any arrest with that name,” Lt. Scott Wrigglesworth, the East Lansing police department Public Information Officer, told MLive. “What I can confirm is that we did arrest a current NBA basketball player this weekend and he was arrested for assault. That’s all we’re confirming right now.”

Green, a Saginaw, Mich., native, has spent the last four seasons with Golden State, playing a key role on a Warriors team that appeared in each of the last two NBA Finals and won the league championship in 2015. The 26-year-old played in 81 games this season, averaging career highs in points (14.0), rebounds (9.5) and assists (7.4) per game.

UPDATE (12:55 p.m. ET): The Warriors told ESPN they are “aware of news” involving Green. Per ESPN, the alleged assault took place at 2:28 a.m. ET Sunday, and if convicted, Green could face up to 93 days in jail and a $500 fine.
