Let’s face it: It’s roughly a million degrees outside, it’s Friday afternoon, and the clock obviously is dragging.
The last thing you want to be doing right now is anything productive. All you’re trying to do is get to the weekend.
And we’re here to help.
Baseball’s Hall of Fame induction weekend is upon us, and the great Ken Griffey Jr. will be enshrined alongside Mike Piazza. Don’t get us wrong: Piazza is one of the greatest catchers ever, but he doesn’t come close to Griffey in terms of having a legitimate, lasting impact on the game of baseball.
Not only was Griffey great, he also was cool. Quite frankly, he’s the type of player baseball needs today. He was perfectly marketable and always looked like he was having fun playing the game.
And that swing. Goodness, that swing was a thing of beauty.
So while you count down the minutes to the weekend, here are some of the greatest Griffey hits for you to sit back and enjoy while reminiscing about how good of a player he really was.
