The New England Patriots began training camp this week, but Jabaal Sheard already is in midseason form — steak-eating form, that is.

The Patriots defensive end set a new plate-to-stomach record Tuesday at Smokey Bones Bar & Fire Grill in Tyngsboro, Mass., when he ate a two-pound rib-eye steak in just 50 minutes. Better than the taste was the fact that Sheard did it for a good cause, according to TMZ.

” … owners offered to give $4,000 to charity if he could finish the whole thing!” TMZ wrote. “We’re told people in the restaurant were so pumped — several customers added to the pot … which totaled $5,200!

“The good news? SHEARD CRUSHED IT.”

Feats like these separate the pros like Sheard from the average Joes.
