Joe Kelly Becoming ‘A Bit More Natural’ In New Role As Red Sox Reliever

The Boston Red Sox are calling on Joe Kelly to do something he hasn’t done at the major league level since 2013.

Kelly was recalled from Triple-A Pawtucket on Sunday, but will serve as a reliever after spending the last two-plus seasons as a starter. The 28-year-old right-hander pitched well over five relief appearances for the PawSox, however, and said he’s starting to get the hang of his new routine.

Hear what Kelly had to say about his switch to the bullpen in the “Red Sox Gameday Live” video above.
