On Tuesday, Julian Edelman tweeted a nice photo of himself, Tom Brady and Justin Timberlake taking in UFC 200 over the weekend in Las Vegas.
One problem: Only two of those guys actually attended the event.
Coincidentally (we think), Edelman posted the photo just an hour or so after former New England Patriots teammate Wes Welker playfully called him out for his tendency to latch onto Brady’s social media efforts.
“I think it’s been noticed,” Welker said on 98.5 The Sports Hub’s “Toucher & Rich.” “I think it’s like going to get Advil, and then there’s, like, the Walgreens prescription next to it.”
In other words, Edelman is store-brand Brady.
“And to his credit, he admits it a lot of the time,” Welker added. “He’s like, ‘Yeah, of course!’ ”
Hey, there are worse guys to emulate than a four-time Super Bowl champion quarterback.
