Boston’s own Matt Damon, an avid Red Sox fan, appeared on The Rich Eisen Show on Tuesday, and the two of course discussed several topics in New England sports.

Among those topics was New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady — as if Ben Affleck’s recent Deflategate rant didn’t hit the nail on the head already — and Red Sox retiring designated hitter David Ortiz.

Damon tells Eisen he believes Ortiz is the greatest Red Sox player of all time — greater than Ted Williams and Carl Yastrzemski, even — but then also shares a few terrific World Series stories about Ortiz from both 2013 and 2004.

And that’s why Big Papi is the best.
