Most of the kids who attended the “Camp Day” baseball game between the Daytona Tortugas and Jupiter Hammerheads will remember the day for its chaos instead of its hardball.

The Tortugas and Hammerheads had a lengthy brawl last Wednesday in front of a big crowd that included several local camp groups, according to The Daytona Beach News-Journal. The fracas started in the ninth inning, lasted over three minutes and caused a 20-minute delay in the action.

Some counselors reportedly ushered kids out of their seats when the brawl started, but many more stayed for the whole thing. A few of the youngsters even sounded like they enjoyed what they were seeing.

The Hammerheads are the Miami Marlins’ Single-A affiliate, while the Tortugas are their counterparts from the Cincinnati Reds organization. Camps might want to think twice before taking kids to see the big league teams face off in a few years.

Memories and bad blood can linger longer than some might think.
