The Boston Celtics have been linked in trade rumors to Los Angeles Clippers forward Blake Griffin and Oklahoma City Thunder guard Russell Westbrook over the last few days, but it’s not the only market in which the Celtics are looking.

Free agency is ongoing across the NBA, and the Celtics reportedly have pursued veteran forward Chase Budinger.

Budinger played in 66 games last season while splitting time with the Phoenix Suns and Indiana Pacers. He averaged 4.1 points per game and made 23.5 percent of his 3-point attempts. His career average from beyond the arc is slightly above 35 percent, which isn’t too bad.

Quite frankly, the Celtics have better options on their own roster for outside shooting. For example, giving more playing time to R.J. Hunter and Kelly Olynyk could help Boston’s production from beyond the arc.
