NBA Rumors: Kevin Durant’s Thunder Chat ‘Went Well,’ But Warriors Bringing Star Power

At this point, it’d be surprising if Kevin Durant didn’t re-sign with the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Durant’s five-hour meeting with Thunder officials Thursday at Chesapeake Energy Arena “went well,” sources told ESPN. This comes on the heels of The Undefeated’s Marc J. Spears reporting that those close to the former NBA MVP expect him to re-sign with Oklahoma City unless he’s blown away by another team’s sales pitch.

The Golden State Warriors are one of the teams looking to pry Durant away from the franchise he’s spent his entire NBA career with, and it sounds like they’re prepared to pull out all the stops in their face-to-face meeting with the star free agent Friday.

Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, head coach Steve Kerr, general manager Bob Myers and owner Joe Lacob all are expected to be involved in Golden State’s sales pitch to Durant. Perhaps Curry, Thompson and Green will pitch the concept of a “Big Four,” much like the Los Angeles Clippers reportedly plan to do with their star trio of Chris Paul, Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan in their meeting scheduled for Friday.

Durant also reportedly is scheduled to meet with the Boston Celtics, San Antonio Spurs and Miami Heat this weekend.
