NESN viewers have the chance to watch Liverpool take its first steps into the new season.
Liverpool will face Tranmere Rovers on Friday at Prenton Park in its preseason opener. NESN will broadcast the game live, with coverage beginning at 1:30 p.m. ET. Kickoff is at 2 p.m.
The Reds’ first Premier League game of 2016-17 is just five weeks away. An exhibition game against Tranmere, a club in the National League (England’s fifth tier), offers manager Jurgen Klopp a chance to gauge how much progress his team must make between now and Aug. 13.
