NESN’s Dave O’Brien, Jack Edwards Nominated For The Globies’ Voice Of Boston

The best in New England sports, including two NESN play-by-play announcers, will be honored at The Globies Presented by Mercedes-Benz in November.

Dave O’Brien and Jack Edwards were among the four nominees announced Monday for the Voice of Boston award for their work calling Red Sox and Bruins games, respectively. Joe Castiglione and Scott Zolak were the other two nominees.

New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady was nominated for four awards, including Athlete of the Year. Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski, Red Sox designated hitter David Ortiz, Bruins center Patrice Bergeron and Celtics point guard Isaiah Thomas also were nominated for Athlete of the Year.

The second annual awards show will take place Nov. 14 at House of Blues Boston, and it will be aired at a later date on NESN. Make sure to visit www.globies.bostonglobe.com for a full list of nominees and to vote.
