FOXBORO, Mass. — The first notable injury of New England Patriots training camp occurred Saturday, when guard Jonathan Cooper was carted off the field with a right foot injury.

Cooper hasĀ a plantar fascia issue, NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport reported during the Patriots’ first padded practice. Cooper went down during an offensive walkthrough and had to be helped off the field and carted into Gillette Stadium.

Here’s what else went down during Day 3 of training camp:

— Tom Brady had his best practice of the summer, going 4 of 4 in 11-on-11s and 21 of 24 overall.

— Jimmy Garoppolo went 2 of 3 in 11-on-11s, with his lone incompletion coming on a drop by wide receiver Chris Hogan. Garoppolo went 13 of 20 overall.

— Jacoby Brissett went 1 of 2 in 7-on-7s and was 12 of 19 with an interception overall. Brissett was picked off by safety Vinnie Sunseri.

— Kevin Faulk, who will be inducted into the Patriots Hall of Fame on Monday, was a special guest. He played catch withĀ Brady at one point during the practice session.

— Center Bryan Stork didn’t finish practice. Second-year pro David Andrews filled in for him with the first unit at center. Rookie Ted Karras filled in for Cooper with the first team at right guard. Rookie Joe Thuney remains at left guard. Shaq Mason, Josh Kline and Tre’ Jackson aren’t participating in team drills, so the Patriots’ top O-line could change when those players are fully healthy.

— Mason and running back D.J. Foster are not on the physically unable to perform or non-football injury lists, but both worked away from the rest of their teammates. Mason started training camp on PUP before passing his physical Thursday. Foster suffered a hamstring injury during minicamp.

— Rob Ninkovich and Shea McClellin continue to work at both defensive end and linebacker. They both project as outside linebackers in a 3-4.

— Dobson continues to impress, but I’d like to see it in a preseason game before I buy in.

— It’s easy to see why Thuney and Karras are getting first-team reps. They’ve been impressive so far.

— Hogan, despite the drop, was solid again in practice. He caught a touchdown from Brady over Butler and McCourty in 11-on-11s.

— Running back LeGarrette Blount fumbled and had to take a lap. Sheard also took a lap during practice.
