BOSTON — The Red Sox welcome the San Francisco Giants into town Tuesday night for the beginning of a quick two-game series against the best team in the National League.

San Francisco enters Tuesday with a 57-36 record, first in the NL West and percentage points ahead of the Washington Nationals and Chicago Cubs for the best record in baseball.

Boston split a two-game set in San Francisco earlier this season, winning 5-3 on June 7 and losing 2-1 on June 8. The Red Sox had their season-long six-game win streak snapped Sunday night in the Bronx in the finale of a three-game set against the New York Yankees and look to get back on track with quite a litmus test.

Right-hander Rick Porcello puts his undefeated record at Fenway Park this season on the line to kick things off. He’ll be opposed by former Red Sox pitcher Jake Peavy, who helped the team win the 2013 World Series.

Here are Tuesday’s lineups for both teams:

RED SOX (51-39)
Mookie Betts, RF
Dustin Pedroia, 2B
Xander Bogaerts, SS
David Ortiz, DH

Buster Posey, C
Brandon Crawford, SS
