Cameras famously captured Daniel Cormier’s anguish at UFC 200, so it was only fair that they’d be there to witness his happiness, too.

Cormier, of course, learned Wednesday night that he wouldn’t fight Jones, who failed a drug test. UFC 200 Embedded chronicled the moment UFC president Dana White told Cormier the bad news, and it was hard to watch.

White himself looked despondent when later announcing the news to the media, as Jones’ positive test threatened to scar the biggest card in UFC history. But White, always a man of action, moved quickly to secure Anderson Silva as Cormier’s opponent.

The Embedded cameras were in Cormier’s Las Vegas hotel room Thursday night when he received the call, to which he gleefully responded: “Ladies and gentlemen, we have a fight.”

White also looked thrilled to have Silva in the fold, even busting the middleweight’s chops for eating a slice of pizza just before the press conference to announce his addition to Saturday night’s card.

“Hey man, you’re fighting,” White said, with a laugh, before adding, “It’s good to be a light heavyweight, huh?”

That pizza helped Silva bulk up to 198.5 pounds, compared to Cormier’s 206, in Friday’s official weigh-in.
