FOXBORO, Mass. — Terrance Knighton knew the New England Patriots were a great franchise when he signed with them in April.

Nothing through the first few days of training camp has altered his thinking.

“It’s (all business) in the locker room. Guys aren’t late to meetings, guys are where they need to be, guys aren’t missing appointments,” Knighton said after Saturday’s practice at Gillette Stadium.

“Guys are attentive in the meetings, taking notes. You don’t see that everywhere. A lot of guys sometimes during camp in the downtime are lounging, but here, guys are either in the training room or with the coaches watching film. Everyone’s always doing something toward being productive and winning.”

The winning atmosphere extends to the crowd, too. More than 21,000 fans attended Saturday’s practice, showing the loyalty and passion Patriots fans provide even in the summer.

“If I wasn’t here playing I’d be up (watching in the stands, too). This is a winning franchise,” Knighton said. “The fans are loyal. This is a place I’ve played at in the past and the games were always sold out. The fans will give you a hard time when you’re on the opposing team, and I’m just happy I’m on this side.”
