Tom Brady didn’t take home any hardware Wednesday night at the 2016 ESPY Awards, but he did make a brief on-screen cameo during the show.

The New England Patriots quarterback appeared in a segment poking fun at his longtime rival, Peyton Manning, whose love of writing letters was the subject of a Gatorade commercial earlier this year.

In a spoof of that ad, Brady, Derek Jeter, Aaron Rodgers, Al Michaels, Lorne Michaels and the entire Manning family read notes that weren’t actually written by the former Denver Broncos quarterback but definitely could have been.

“I just want you to know I think of you as a brother,” Brady’s letter read. “A brother who lost to my brother all the time.”

That other brother wasn’t safe from the ribbing, either.

“Dearest Eli,” New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning said, reading from Peyton’s letter to him. “I’ve now won as many Super Bowls as you have. Just FYI.”

There’s no denying that.
