FOXBORO, Mass. — The New England Patriots’ defense got the best of Tom Brady on Friday, and linebacker Jamie Collins, who usually torments opposing quarterbacks, enjoyed a chuckle.

The Patriots quarterback slammed his helmet down in frustration after 7-on-7 drills, when he finished the session with two incomplete passes.

“It’s funny to me,” Collins said Friday after practice. “You know me. I like to be in my own zone. …

“That’s everybody. We try to get everybody like that. Even me.”

Collins is singularly focused on football in training camp despite coming into the season in the last year of his rookie contract. Collins could see a massive raise as one of the most talented players on the Patriots’ defense.

“I’m just handling business, man,” Collins said. “That’ll take care of itself.”
