2017 World Baseball Classic Pools, Venues Revealed; USA To Play In Miami

The World Baseball Classic returns next March and will feature some of the best baseball players on the planet competing for international glory.

The four pools were announced Sunday. The United States is in Pool C, which plays its group stage games in Miami.

Here’s the full pool rundown.

Pool A (Tokyo): Australia, China, Cuba, Japan
Pool B (Seoul): Chinese Taipei, Korea, the Netherlands, and one of either Brazil, Great Britain, Israel or Pakistan
Pool C (Miami): Canada, Colombia, Dominican Republic, United States
Pool D (Guadalajara): Italy, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Venezuela.

The championship game will be played at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles.

The defending champion is the Dominican Republic. The United States’ best ever finish in this tournament was fourth place in 2009.
