Armenian Weightlifter Andranik Karapetyan’s Arm Shouldn’t Bend Like This

There’s something unsettling about watching Olympic weightlifting because it always seems like the competitors are a second away from their bodies crumbling in some way, shape or form. When injuries do occur, they’re generally very, very gross.

The injury suffered this week by Armenian weightlifter Andranik Karapetyan at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro was no different. It was grotesque on every level, right down to the scream he let out before dropping more than 400 pounds behind his head.

You can see the ugly-looking arm injury below. But again, if you’re not into that sort of thing, we highly recommend you back out and search for something that won’t make you lose your lunch.
