EA Sports’ football video game series, “Madden NFL,” prides itself on realism, including lifelike graphics, television presentation, crisp audio and accurately detailed stadiums, among other things.

Now, that realism will include San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick’s controversial protest of the national anthem.

It will be added to the recently released “Madden NFL 17” game as part of an upcoming update.

“Kaepernick’s decision will be briefly mentioned in-game, reflecting our commitment to authenticity in Madden NFL 17,” an EA Sports spokesperson said, via ForTheWin.  Overall, our new commentary will mainly center around on-field performance, as well as major news like trades, free agency signings and injuries.

Basically, if you play as the 49ers in the game, there’s a chance you’ll hear Kaepernick’s protest mentioned by the commentators, Brandon Gaudin and Charles Davis.
