It’s too bad David Ortiz is retiring because he might never stop producing.

The Boston Red Sox slugger already hit a home run Friday during his final series in Comerica Park, but he hit another two-run bomb Saturday in the fifth inning against the Detroit Tigers to give the Red Sox a 3-1 lead.

Big Papi’s latest long ball was a big deal for a lot of reasons. It was Ortiz’s 29th home run of the year and his 96th and 97th RBIs, bringing him that much closer to his 10th season with 30-plus home runs and 100-plus RBIs. It also marked his 1,500th RBI with the Red Sox, something only Ted Williams and Carl Yastrzemski have done.

Remind us why he’s retiring again?
