David Ortiz Receives Huge Ovation From Tigers Fans In Final At-Bat In Comerica Park

David Ortiz has been a thorn in the Tigers’ side whenever he’s come to Detroit over the years, but that didn’t stop the fans from telling him how much they appreciate him.

The Boston Red Sox designated hitter went into Sunday’s game against the Tigers with a .332 average, 1.122 OPS, 60 RBIs and 23 home runs — the most of any opponent — at Comerica Park. But in his final at-bat there in the eighth inning, Ortiz got a huge ovation.

It’s always nice to see opposing fans give credit where it’s due, especially because Ortiz continued his trend of crushing the ball in Detroit. Big Papi went 7-for-12 with two home runs, a double and four RBIs over the four-game series,
