The Major League Baseball season is in its final months, and the postseason race is tight, which means every win is important at this point. And the Boston Red Sox showed just how true that is when they set their lineup Saturday.
David Ortiz is starting at first base against the Los Angeles Dodgers for the first time during the 2016 season. The Red Sox have kept their designated hitter off his feet during interleague play this year, as nagging heel injuries make it painful for Ortiz to play the field.
But with the Red Sox hanging on to the second American League wild card spot and situated just two games out of first place in the AL East, they need their best hitters in the lineup every day.
