Giancarlo Stanton Breaks Bat, Nearly Hits Home Run Anyway With Huge Swing

The latest chapter in “Giancarlo Stanton Being Strong” came out of the Miami Marlins’ game against the San Francisco Giants on Tuesday night.

Stanton, as just about any baseball fan knows at this point, is one of the baseball’s best power hitters. The Marlins outfielder has freaky strength, as he reminded everyone with a nearly 500-foot home run last week in Colorado.

What he did Monday night against the Giants, however, might have been even more impressive, despite the fact that the ball stayed in the park.

Stanton’s latest Herculean feat actually came thanks to a broken bat. Stanton drove in a run in the first inning after driving a pitch to deep left field that nearly left the ballpark — despite his breaking his bat into two pieces on the pitch.

That man works out.

After a prolonged slump for much of the season, Stanton is really putting it together as of late. He’s got a hit in each of his last four games, driving in six runs with two home runs over that span — and one really impressive broken-bat RBI.
