At least one Boston Red Sox player won’t be exhausted for Thursday’s game against the Detroit Tigers.

Hanley Ramirez returned from the bereavement list Thursday, just in time for Boston to play a 1:10 p.m. game at Comerica Park immediately after traveling from a late game against the Orioles in Baltimore. Ramirez was moved to the list Monday after a death on his wife’s side of the family and missed the last three games.

As a result, the Red Sox optioned infielder Marco Hernandez to Triple-A Pawtucket. Boston recalled the 23-year-old Monday, but he didn’t appear in any games for the three days he was with the big league club.
