Major League Baseball’s waiver trade deadline — the last day for teams to make deals that would allow newly acquired players to be eligible for the postseason — was Wednesday.

There usually aren’t many high-profile players moved on this day, and Wednesday wasn’t much of an exception. A few contenders added smaller pieces, but nothing major happened.

You can review our live blog of the day’s happenings below.

12:15 a.m.: The Los Angeles Dodgers apparently thought about bringing back a former Cy Young Award-winning pitcher.

10:50 p.m.: The Boston Red Sox might have made the best deadline day acquisition in the form of a call-up. The team announced Wednesday night that it’s promoting Yoan Moncada, the No. 1 prospect in baseball, to the majors Friday.

10:45 p.m.: The Mets bolstered their bullpen.

9 p.m.: The Baltimore Orioles reportedly acquired outfielder Michael Bourn from the Arizona Diamondbacks.

3:10 p.m.: Yasiel Puig is going nowhere.

1:15 p.m.: A good get for the Cleveland Indians.

11:14 a.m.: More info on Yasiel Puig from Tuesday night.

10:30 a.m.: Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Yasiel Puig is the name to follow Wednesday.

10:25 a.m.: Could Coco Crisp be reuniting with one of his former managers, Terry Francona?

10:20 a.m.: The Baltimore Orioles are one team to watch Wednesday. They’re in a tight race for the AL East crown and wild card spots.

“There’s usually an opportunity to supplement your club,” Orioles general manager Dan Duquette recently told Jon Meoli of The Baltimore Sun.

“This is probably the last chance, right? The last roundup. So we’ve been working on it. … You want to make your bench as strong as you can make it, and also get as much pitching depth as you can.”

10 a.m. ET: The Yankees, according to ESPN’s Buster Olney, “have been aggressive in making waiver claims.” New York enters Wednesday 6 1/2 games out of first place in the American League East division and just 3 1/2 games in back of a wild-card spot. A wild card is a realistic target for New York with around 25 games left to play.

Here’s some news on the Seattle Mariners as they chase a wild-card spot.
