NFL Rumors: Teams Eyeing Josh Gordon, But Browns Don’t Want To Trade Him

The Cleveland Browns should have a major offensive weapon back in their lineup this season as talented wide receiver Josh Gordon returns.

But will he play for the Browns much longer? ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Tuesday, citing league sources, that “multiple teams have reached out to the Cleveland Browns to inquire about the availability” of Gordon.

Cleveland.com’s Mary Kay Cabot confirmed Schefter’s report.

Gordon last played in 2014, when he appeared in five games and caught 24 passes for 303 yards and no touchdowns. However, he posted 87 receptions for 1,646 yards and nine touchdowns the previous season, despite missing two games.

The main issue with acquiring Gordon, in addition to his previous off-the-field issues, is the fact he might be suspended for the first four games of the upcoming season. Still, someone as talented as Gordon probably is worth taking a chance on, as long as the price to acquire him isn’t too high.

The Browns might as well field offers for Gordon. Maybe they could acquire a quality draft pick to help their ongoing rebuild.
