British athletes have the chance to win more gold than most athletes at the 2016 Summer Olympics.
Nissan Great Britain announced that any Nissan-sponsored British athlete who takes gold in the Olympics, and Paralympics, will be given a gold-wrapped Nissan Leaf when they return home.
Six-time Olympic cycling gold medalist, and Nissan brand ambassador, Sir Chris Hoy revealed the first gold Leaf at the Lee Valley VeloPark in London in late July.

For Hoy and Nissan alike, unveiling the car was something special.
“It’s always exciting and nostalgic to come back to the Velopark, after winning my fifth and sixth gold medals here,” Hoy said in a press release. “For all of the Nissan athletes going to Rio, the 2016 Games will be a moment in their careers that they will never forget, whether they win a medal or not.”
“But let’s hope they can do it — compete at their best and come home with gold. It would be fantastic to hand over one of these special gold Nissan Leafs on their return.”
In addition to the gold wrap, each Leaf will also say “Rio 2016 Gold Medalist” on the bumper.

Some of the Nissan-sponsored athletes eligible to win a Leaf include heptathlete Katarina Johnson-Thompson, gymnast Max Whitlock and multi-gold medal winners David Weir CBE and Richard Whitehead MBE.
