Olympic Swimming Results: Michael Phelps To Race For Gold In 200M Butterfly

American swimming legend Michael Phelps has earned a chance for another Summer Olympics gold medal.

The most decorated Olympic champion of all-time advanced to the 200-meter butterfly final in Rio with a time of 1:54:12 during Monday night’s semifinal race. That time was good enough for second place in the heat.

The 200m butterfly final is Tuesday, Aug. 9 at 9:38 p.m. ET.

Phelps extended his own record by winning his 19th gold medal and 23rd overall Olympic medal as part of the USA men’s 4×100 meter relay team over the weekend.
