Olympic Tennis 2016: Dates, Start Times, TV Schedule, Live Stream

Aug 3, 2016

The story of tennis at the 2016 Summer Olympics, like golf, so far has been the number of men not heading to Rio de Janeiro to battle for gold.

Roger Federer, Stan Wawrinka, Milos Ranoic, Dominic Thiem, John Isner, Feliciano Lopez, Tomas Berdych, Nick Kyrgios and Bernard Tomic all have pulled out of the Olympics due to either injuries or concerns over the Zika virus.

But the defending men’s and women’s champions — Andy Murray (Great Britain) and Serena Williams (United States) — both will be back, as well as the No. 1 men’s tennis player in the world, Novak Djokovic. And, in a surprise turn of events, Rafael Nadal will return from the injuries that have sidelined him for most of the 2016 season and compete in the 2016 Games.

Unlike the men, most of the top women in the world will be at the Olympic Tennis Centre once the matches begin Saturday morning.

Top 10 women’s players Angelique Kerber, Garbine Muguruza, Agnieszka Radwanska, Venus Williams, Roberts Vinci, Madison Keys and Svetlana Kuznetsova all stand in the way of Serena Williams’ quest for another gold.

Every tennis match will be aired on Bravo and streamed live at NBCOlympics.com. Official matches will be announced the day before, but the schedule for each round can be seen below.
