FOXBORO, Mass. — Tom Brady celebrated his birthday Wednesday . And, as Bill Belichick was quick to point out, he wasn’t the only New England Patriots player to do so.

“Well, first of all, I don’t think we want to miss (offensive lineman) Chris Barker’s birthday as long as we’re celebrating,” the Patriots head coach said before his team hit the practice field for Day 6 of training camp.

Per usual, Brady’s presence elicited plenty of applause from the Patriots fans in attendance. They even serenaded the now-39-year-old quarterback with no fewer than three renditions of “Happy Birthday.”

Barker, who’s played in six games for the Patriots over the last three seasons, received no such love from the crowd. But the 26-year-old did appreciate Belichick’s pre-practice shoutout.

“Hey, that’s a present right there,” Barker said. “That’s good enough for me.”

That was about all the birthday talk Belichick could handle, though. When asked whether the team had anything special planned for Brady or Barker, the coach simply said, “Practicing.”
