Red Sox Not Making Issue Of Brutal Travel Schedule, John Farrell Says

There’s no denying the 11-game road trip the Boston Red Sox started Monday is a rough one, but manager John Farrell isn’t making any excuses.

On Sunday, the Red Sox began a stretch of playing in four different ballparks in five days, going from Fenway Park to Cleveland to Baltimore and now to Detroit on Thursday to take on the Tigers. Add to it the fact that Boston didn’t arrive in Motown from Baltimore until almost 4 a.m. ET for a 1:10 p.m. game, and you have some pretty exhausted players.

But Farrell said before Thursday’s Red Sox-Tigers showdown that the Red Sox aren’t really making much of the schedule, as they knew what it looked like before the season even started. Hear more from the skipper on how they planned for the trip on “Red Sox First Pitch” in the video above.
