BOSTON — Andrew Benintendi is about to debut on one of the biggest possible stages.
The 22-year-old Red Sox outfielder already made his Major League Baseball debut Aug. 2 against the Mariners in Seattle. But Benintendi will make his first start at Fenway Park on Tuesday and get to experience the Red Sox-Yankees rivalry, playing in left and batting ninth against New York. Brock Holt will move over to shortstop for Xander Bogaerts, who’s getting a routine day off, and bat eighth.
Rick Porcello is on the mound for the Red Sox, and he’s looking to bounce back from a loss against Seattle and keep his undefeated streak at Fenway alive. The right-hander is 10-0 at Fenway, and six of his last seven outings have been quality ones.
