Robinson Cano On ‘Big Brother’ David Ortiz: Every Player Would Want A Career Like His

There’s a good chance Robinson Cano never will play against David Ortiz again after the Seattle Mariners’ four-game series with the Boston Red Sox this week.

So before he says farewell to Big Papi, the Mariners second baseman joined NESN’s Guerin Austin to relay what Ortiz has meant to him throughout his career.

“For me, he’s like a big brother,” Cano said on NESN’s “Red Sox Gameday Live” before Wednesday’s game. “… It’s going to be sad seeing him go, but we have to respect his decision. What a great career. That’s a career every player would love to have.”
